Baxter Regional Medical Center’s VP/chief operating officer has been named the new CEO of Medical Center of South Arkansas, according to an Arkansas Business report.
David R. Fox’s new role with the El Dorado medical center is effective April 11.
Fox replaces Scott Street, who resigned in August after two no-confidence votes by the medical staff..
Fox has more than 25 years of clinical and hospital and health systems operations experience.
Before joining Baxter Regional, he was president then market vice president of network development at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock. Fox began his career as a nuclear medicine technologist and has served in clinical and management roles at hospitals in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as Baptist Health in Little Rock.
Fox earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University in Tulsa. He is also a fellow of both the American College of Healthcare Executives and American Healthcare Radiology Administrators.
