Two people from Mountain Home have been arrested following a rash of vehicle break-ins at a local movie theater this month. Both 34-year-old Dale Anthony Malcevicz and 26-year-old Andrea Denise Stacy are facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with the thefts.
According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, Mountain Home police were notified March 8 of the first break-in. Other thefts from vehicles parked at the movie theater were reported March 9 and March 10.
Items taken during the thefts included cellphones, cameras, watches, computers, wallets, purses, a handgun, credit and debit cards and cash.
Police were able to identify Malcevicz and Stacy as the suspects after they had allegedly used one of the stolen debit cards at a local convenience store.
On March 10, police spotted the duo leaving a fast-food restaurant and were able to make a traffic stop on the vehicle they were in. Police found the items reported stolen that night in plain view in the vehicle. Stacy was reported to have what appeared to be methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe on her person.
The next day, police were able to obtain a search warrant for the vehicle and found the stolen handgun along with a secret compartment in the driver’s seat, where three baggies of what appeared to be methamphetamine were located, along with glass smoking pipes and scales.
Malcevicz and Stacy are each facing four felony counts theft by receiving, five felony counts of breaking or entering, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, one felony count of possession of drug paraphernalia, six misdemeanor counts of theft by receiving and two misdemeanor counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card. Malcevicz is also facing a felony charge of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
Bond for Malcevicz is set at $50,000, while bond for Stacy is set at $25,000.
