A Marion County man has been arrested for sex crimes with two young girls in Baxter County. Sixty-seven-year-old Richard Peter Lepage of Pyatt was arrested at a local fast-food restaurant Sunday afternoon on the warrant charging him with two felonies involving two sisters.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, Baxter County authorities were notified of the case, after a call was received on the Arkansas State Child Abuse Hotline. The report was made by a therapist at an in-patient mental health facility in Benton where one of the now teenage sisters was a resident.

Investigators interviewed the victims who both said the alleged incidents happened when they were between the ages of 6 and 10. They told law enforcement Lepage was their grandmother’s boyfriend at the time. They allege Lepage would touch them inappropriately and himself while doing so. One of the girls said she woke up one time with Lepage naked on top of her.

When Baxter County deputies went to Lepage’s residence in February to interview him about the incidents, he admitted to touching himself but denied touching either of the girls. He told deputies he thought he had already made amends, because he apologized to the girls’ grandmother.

Lepage is facing two felony counts of sexual indecency with a child. His bond is set at $10,000.
