A state championship basketball coach is leaving Norfork. Will Stewart was hired Monday night as the new head girls’ basketball coach at Russellville High School according to a press release from the school.

Stewart just finished his third season at Norfork, leading the Lady Panthers to back-to-back state championship games the past two seasons, winning the title this year with a victory over Mammoth Spring. He compiled a record of 80-30 in his time at Norfork.

Russellville Athletic Director Johnny Johnson says “Coach Stewart brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and experience to our program. Coach Stewart’s passion and enthusiasm for the game is contagious and our student-athletes are fortunate to have him as their head coach.”

Stewart, who graduated from Arkansas Tech, takes over for Jae Kell who went 13-14 in her one season as head coach.
