Baseball and softball make up much of the local Friday schedule.
Mountain Home’s junior high softball team will be back at McClain Park with the Mountain Home Academy. The first game begins at 6 at Freedom Field.
On the high school level, Gainesville will play its opener in the Sparta Trojans Softball Classic. The Lady Bulldogs meet Marionville at 6:30.
Elsewhere, Flippin hosts Yellville-Summit, Viola travels to Greers Ferry to face West Side, Bakersfield entertains Summersville, Ozark Mountain makes the trip to Omaha, Lead Hill heads to Jasper, and Bergman travels to Valley Springs.
Gainesville will have back-to-back games to begin the 24th-annual Hartville Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs take on Willow Springs at 3:15 and Norwood at 5:30.
In other high school baseball, Cotter makes the trip to Decatur for a doubleheader, Flippin is home against Yellville-Summit, Viola heads to Greers Ferry to play West Side, Ozark Mountain hosts Omaha on the Bruno-Pyatt campus in Eros, Salem entertains White County Central, Izard County will begin action in the Daredevil Classic at Wonderview High School in Hattieville, Melbourne is home against Tuckerman, Mountain View hosts Riverview, Lead Hill travels to Jasper, and Harrison makes the trip to Prairie Grove.
