Three people, including two juveniles, were airlifted to hospitals following a single vehicle crash in Searcy County Thursday afternoon.

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell says the vehicle was being driven by John Gibson of Leslie at what authorities believe was a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head on.

Three juveniles where in the vehicle. Two of them along with Gibson were airlifted from the scene. The third youth did not have any obvious injuries.

The names of the juveniles have not been released.

The crash happened around 3:15 on Rail Road between Marshall and Leslie, south of the Ice Plant Road intersection.

The accident is being investigated by the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office and the Marshall Police Department.
