AMBER Alert canceled after child found safe; search continues for suspect

The AMBER Alert issued Tuesday by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for a missing child has been canceled. The child, identified as two-year-old Tajz Washington, was found safe, but the suspect remains at large.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tony Washington Jr. is Tajz’s father, and he is accused of assaulting a family member, displaying a handgun and leaving with the child from a residence in the St. Louis suburb of Riverview. He is described as a 5-foot-6 black male, weighing 160 pounds, wearing a black shirt with writing and camouflage pants. Tony Washingtion is believed to be traveling in a red Lincoln from the early 2000s with heavy window tinting.
