Entergy Arkansas customers can expect an increase on their utility bills this month.

According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Entergy Arkansas has agreed to shave $32 million off a recently filed rate-increase request based on recommendations from the Public Service Commission staff. Customers across Arkansas will begin paying 6.14% more for electricity this month under the proposal.

The revised request raises the average monthly household bill by $6.80, down from $8.27 that Entergy wanted. Average usage is considered 1,000 kilowatt hours per month which equals a bill for $110.76.

Entergy, like other utilities, incurred added costs when snow blanketed the state for much of February 2021. Rising natural gas prices also factor into the increase.
