Thursday softball and baseball results: Viola girls top Norfork, Norfork boys down Viola

Thursday saw a number of high school baseball and softball teams in action in the area.

In softball results:
-Viola blasted Norfork 20-0 to improve to 8-4. The Lady Panthers fall to 0-7.
-Calico Rock lost to Shirley 9-0. The Lady Pirates drop to 7-9 on the campaign.
-Salem fell to Midland 9-4. The Lady Greyhounds’ record is now 10-7.
-Mammoth Spring swept a double header at Marked Tree, winning by scores of 13-0 and 8-0. The Lady Bears are now 5-6 on the season.

On the baseball diamond:
-Norfork was a 4-1 winner over Viola. The Panthers push their record to 15-3 while the Longhorns fall to 6-10.
-Izard County lost at Greers Ferry West Side 9-1. The Cougars are now 14-4 on the season.
