
The Mountain Home High School softball team ended up with mixed results Friday in a makeup doubleheader at Russellville.
The Lady Bombers blanked the Lady Cyclones 4-0 in the opener. Emma Crabb picked up with win with 13 strikeouts. Katie Camp went 3-for-3 for Mountain Home, and Katelyn Hill was 3-for-4.
The Lady Bombers did not fare as well in the nightcap after being edged out by Batesville 6-5. Emma Crabb suffered the defeat in the circle with six strikeouts. At the plate, she and Olivia Crabb each went 2-for-4, and Georgia Burnham was 1-for-3 with a walk.
Mountain Home is 7-9 on the season and 3-5 in the 5A-West, and they’ll host Greenwood for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Cotter had a short but tough road trip. The Lady Warriors ended up falling to Yellville-Summit 15-11.
Flippin picked up a nonconference win on the road. The Lady Bobcats went to Strawberry and defeated Hillcrest 7-5.
Viola was able to grab another league victory. The Lady Longhorns squeaked by Shirley 2-1.
Salem wrapped up the week on a rough note. The Lady Greyhounds fell to Tuckerman by a final of 15-1.
Cotter’s baseball team had a good day at Yellville City Park. The Warriors toppled Yellville-Summit 13-3.
Salem did not fare any better on the baseball diamond than they did in softball. The Greyhounds lost to Tuckerman 6-2.
Melbourne had a dominating outing in Newark. The Bearkatz shut out Cedar Ridge 17-0.
Harrison secured a conference win on the road. The Goblins were able to double up Huntsville 4-2.
