An area city is among five approved for water and wastewater projects by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Commission. The City of Marshall received a $77,250 loan and a $75,000 grant.

The funds will be used to replace the existing water main with large diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping to improve the system. The current customer base for this project is 1,318.

The commission approved a total of $46 million for water and wastewater projects. The projects will serve more than 20,000 people in the five Arkansas counties.
