The regular monthly meeting of the Baxter County Airport Commission was recently held at the terminal.
Board of Commissioners chairman Dr. Steven Vester shared some of the ongoings at the airport.
Vester says the long-term project the commission is working toward is an expansion project which will move the airport closer to commercial air service. Vester says it is not an immediate occurence, but they are laying the ground work for the future to provide Mountain Home with that service.
As of right now improvements toward the airport mainly include infrastructure maintenance of minor damages.
The Baxter County Airport is supported largely by grants, Vester says many of them are constantly in progress, but a few grants for the expansion project are in the application phase.
