A man arrested after holding a gun to a man’s forehead and demanding the return of his mother’s personal belongings appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Colton Jay Crabtree entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him and was approved for the services of a Public Defender.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Crabtree approached the victim as he was burning lawn debris in the backyard of his residence in the 400-block of Justis Street.
Investigators reported Crabtree demanded his mother’s personal property being kept inside the victim’s residence be returned to her.
During the confrontation, Crabtree is alleged to have pulled a black pistol from his waistband and held it to the victim’s forehead.
Crabtree threatened, “I will end your life if mom can’t get her clothes.”
A neighbor who witnessed the confrontation came out of his residence and Crabtree fled on foot.
Police found him on 8th Street and detained him. He was allegedly carrying a loaded 9-millimeter pistol in his waistband.
The pistol was taken into evidence.
Crabtree was taken to jail and booked on charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.
His bond is now set at $10,000.
