
Baseball and softball make up much of the local Friday schedule.
The Mountain Home High School softball team returns to the road Friday for an outing with Harrison. The varsity game begins at 5 followed by the junior varsity contest.
Elsewhere, Flippin travels to Bigelow, Ozark Mountain hosts Jasper on the Bruno-Pyatt campus in Eros, Mammoth Spring entertains Alton, Missouri, and Lead Hill makes the trip to Omaha.
Three area baseball teams will begin a two-day run in the ninth-annual Southern Missouri Invitational Tournament. Dora stays on its home turf while facing Mountain View-Liberty at 10. At Hartville, Gainesville takes on Hartville’s junior varsity team at 11, and Bakersfield plays the Hartville varsity team at 1.
In other high school baseball, Norfork heads to Mountain View, Ozark Mountain travels to Jasper, Salem makes the trip to Newark to face Cedar Ridge, Mammoth Spring is home against Crowley’s Ridge Academy, Melbourne meets Palestine-Wheatley at Harding Academy in Searcy, Lead Hill and Omaha play a doubleheader at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison, and Harrison heads to Gentry.
