UPDATE: Four reportedly dead in Stone County

UPDATE at 9:00 AM FridayInvestigators from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police are investigating the deaths of four people in the Ben community, southeast of Mountain View. Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds confirmed to KARK in Little Rock this morning four people are dead in two homes less than one mile apart. No arrests have been made.

A spokesperson for the Stone County Sheriff’s Office told KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot news the Arkansas State Police are now leading the investigation. No other details have been released.

KARK is reporting the Concord School District, which includes southeastern Stone County is not running buses today and outside recess will not be held. The Mountain View School District has requested additional patrols on their campuses today.

Sheriff Bonds issued a statement late Thursday night asking residents in Stone County to stay in their homes and keep their doors locked.

Law enforcement in Stone County is investigating two deaths and the sheriff is warning residents to stay inside and keep their doors locked. Sheriff Lance Bonds issued a statement shortly after 11 Thursday night saying the Stone County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police are conducting two separate death investigations in the Ben community southeast of Mountain View.

The sheriff says there is not an active shooter at this time and deputies are patrolling the area. He urged residents in the area to stay in their homes and keep their doors locked.
