
The opening round of the Big Creek Stroke Play Championship was held Saturday.
Mike Cormack was the top overall golfer at Big Creek Golf and Country Club with a two-under-par 70. He’s leading the men’s super senior division, three strokes ahead of Greg Connell and Dill Gunn.
Tyler Reynolds is leading the open division with a 73. Trey Depriest is second at one stroke back, and Clayton Harbour and Stephen Stanton are tied for third with a 76.
Dustin Cole is at the top of the mid-amateur leaderboard with a 75. Josh Jones sits in second place at three strokes off the lead, and Trey Schapp is third with a 79.
John Tetens leads the senior division with a 75. Gene Davis and Bev Hargraves are tied for second at one stroke back.
Jim Smith has the master division lead with a 77. He is four strokes ahead of Bill Wrentz, and Scott Jones is third with an 82.
Nora Phillips is the top golfer on the women’s side. Phillips has a 76 to lead the mid-amateur division.
Rosetta Parks is leading the senior division with an 85. Christie Mahl is second at two strokes back, Karen Carter is third with a 94.
Pat Elliott and Mimi Evans are tied for the master division lead. Both golfers shot an 88.
Pam Evans has the top spot in the super senior division. Pam Evans finished the day with a 94.
The final round will get underway Sunday morning. The shotgun start is set for 8.
