
The season ended Thursday for Mountain Home’s junior high track teams in the Northeast Arkansas Conference Meet at Jonesboro.
The Junior Bomber boys finished second in the team standings. Annie Camp won the team title. Trenton Smith won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Adam Jones won the pole vault, Zachary Daugherty won the 300-meter hurdles and finished fourth in the pole vault, Eli Jones won the discus and was fourth in the shot put, Gus Wilber ended up second in the 800-meter run, William Taylor took second place in the 1600-meter run and fifth in the 800-meter run, and Connor King finished fifth in the 1600-meter run. Smith, King, Wilber and Dean Eimers were second in the 4×800-meter relay; Barrett Miller, Jacob Chenowith, Dillon Stacey and Isaac Ballard ended up third in the 4×200-meter relay; and Smith, Wilber, King and Daugherty took fourth place in the 4×400-meter relay.
Mountain Home finished third on the girls’ side behind Greene County Tech and Nettleton. Olivia McCoy won the pole vault, Bailey Ritenburg won the 1600-meter run and was third in the 800-meter run, Mackenna Medley ended up second in the shot put and third in the discus, Anna McCarn took second place in the high jump and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles, and Erin Smith finished fifth in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs. Ritenburg, Smith, Naomi Wiggins and Caylee Simmons won the 4×800-meter relay; Smith, McCarn Ritenburg and Pixie Bolick were third in the 4×400-meter relay; and McCarn, Camilla Johnson, Whitten Coleman and Laykin Moore ended up fourth in the 4×200-meter relay.
