Salem team wins Bassmaster High School Series event

An area team was able to capture the win in Sunday’s Bassmaster High School series event on Lake Norfork. Huntlee York and Colton Smith of Salem caught five fish weighing 13 pounds, 7 ounces, to take home the title. Garrett Thomas and Hunter Holland of Walker High School in Louisiana were second with five fish at 12 3/4 pounds.

Among other area anglers, Fisher Tyler and Blake Ingram of Salem finished fourth at 11 pounds, 5 ounces; Kendall Smith and Kelton Wilson of Bruno-Pyatt were tied for 14th at 9 1/2 pounds; Karson Hubbard and Aden Yarger of Gainesville ended up 18th at 8 3/4 pounds and caught the big bass at 4 pounds, 5 ounces; Madison Busch and Keaton Bassham of Salem were tied for 47th place at 1 pound, 11 ounces; and Landon Mausser and Canaan Horton of Marshall finished 49th at 1 pound, 5 ounces. Anthony Loggins and Sawyer Horton of Marshall were unable to come back with a catch.
