
Baseball and softball make up much of the local Friday schedule with the continuation of district tournaments.
The 2A-1 District Baseball Tournament will come to an end at Marty Hall Field in Cotter. Flippin faces Life Way Christian for third place at 4, and the host Warriors take on Yellville-Summit for the title at 6.
The 1A-2 District Baseball Tournament will conclude at Izard County High School in Brockwell. Norfork plays the host Cougars at 10, and Viola will be paired with top-seeded Greers Ferry West Side at noon. The winners will meet for the championship at 2.
Melbourne returns to Midland High School in Pleasant Plains for the championship game of the 2A-2 District Tournament. The Bearkatz will take the field at 4.
Bergman will be on its home field for its first game in the 3A-1 District Tournament. The top-seeded Panthers will be paired with Greenland at 5.
Elsewhere, Bakersfield travels to Willow Springs.
The 1A-2 District Softball Tournament will come to an end at Izard County High School in Brockwell. The host Lady Cougars take on top-seeded West Side at noon, and Calico Rock plays Shirley at 1:30. The winners compete for the title at 3.
Valley Springs plays its first game in the 3A-1 District Softball Tournament in front of the home crowd. The Lady Tigers will be matched up with Elkins at 5.
In other high school softball, Bakersfield makes the trip to Seymour.
