An Izard County man arrested for failing to comply with requirements of being a registered sex offender picked up additional charges after he allegedly threw urine on a jailer while being booked into the detention center. Fifty-two-year-old Larry Wayne Horton is facing three felony charges in connection with the incidents.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, deputies went to Horton’s residence in Oxford to perform a sex offender compliance check and found discrepancies concerning vehicles on the property which put him in violation of reporting requirements of being a registered sex offender. As deputies explained the law, they report Horton started screaming profanities at them.

After arriving at the Izard County Detention Center, Horton continued screaming profanities at the detention center officers and allegedly tried to flood the cell he was placed in with waste water from the toilet. Horton then urinated in the toilet, dipped his food tray into the toilet and threw the bodily waste at one of the detention officers, soaking his uniform.

Horton is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, two counts of failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements of being a registered sex offender, disorderly conduct and being a habitual offender. His bond is set at $25,000.
