The Mountain Home High School softball team had to win both ends of a double header at Alma Tuesday to clinch a spot in next week’s state tournament. They did just that.
The Lady Bombers took the first game 8-2. Emma Crabb had a big game in the circle, recording 18 strikeouts to get the win. At the plate, Georgia Burnham hit a two run homer and Katelyn Hill, Kiley Horne and Crabb each drove in runs.
Mountain Home took the nightcap 2-1. Crabb got the win, striking out 10. Offensively, Burnham went deep again for a two-run blast.
The Lady Bombers improve to 12-13 overall and finish conference play at 7-7. They will open play in the Class 5A State Tournament next Thursday.
