After Thursday’s rainfall, most regional tournaments in Arkansas were pushed back to begin Friday.
Three local baseball teams will be in Mansfield for the start of the Class 2A West Regional Tournament. Cotter gets underway with Mountainburg at 10, Flippin meets the host Tigers at 3, and Yellville-Summit faces Lavaca at 5:30.
Most of the Class 1A Region 2 Baseball Tournament at Marked Tree was postponed on Thursday. Norfork and the host Indians will resume their game Friday at 2. The Panthers will pick back up with a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning. Viola takes on Hillcrest at 4, and Izard County plays Armorel at 6:30.
The Class 1A Region 1 Baseball Tournament begins at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison with Omaha as the designated host school. Ozark Mountain and Scranton get started at 10, Jasper will be paired with Ozark Catholic at 12:30, Lead Hill meets Western Yell County at 3, and Omaha faces County Line at 5:30.
Two area baseball teams will be at South Side-Bee Branch to begin action in the Class 2A Central Regional Tournament. Melbourne takes on Quitman at 10, and Salem plays Bigelow at 5:30.
Bergman’s baseball team will be at Greenland for its opener in the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament. The Panthers will be matched up with Booneville at 12:30.
Harrison will compete in the opening game of the Class 4A North Regional Baseball Tournament at Morrilton. The Goblins meet Dardanelle at 10.
Three local softball teams will join their baseball counterparts in Mansfield for the Class 2A West Regional Tournament. Flippin gets started with Magazine at 10, Yellville-Summit faces Lavaca at 12:30, and Cotter takes on Johnson County Westside at 3.
Part of the Class 1A Region 2 Softball Tournament’s opening round was played on Thursday, but the majority was rained out. Mammoth Spring and Shirley will pick their game back up Friday at 2. The Lady Bears currently lead the Lady Blue Devils 5-2 in the fourth inning. Izard County plays Armorel at 4, and Calico Rock goes up against Hillcrest at 6:30.
Omaha is also hosting the Class 1A Region 1 Softball Tournament Harrison. Ozark Mountain and Western Yell County get the action underway at 12:30, the host Lady Eagles meet County Line at 3, and Lead Hill faces Mulberry at 5:30.
Melbourne’s softball team goes to South Side-Bee Branch for the start of the Class 2A Central Regional Tournament. The Lady Bearkatz take on Bigelow at 12:30.
Valley Springs will compete in the Class 3A Region 1 Softball Tournament at Greenland. Valley Springs plays another group of Lady Tigers from Charleston at 12:30.
Harrison will wrap up the opening round of the Class 4A North Regional Tournament at Morrilton. The Lady Goblins will be paired with Clarksville at 5:30.
