
Six days after one boil water order was lifted, another boil order has been issued for a portion of the Brunner Hill Water Association. The order is mainly for customers on Jordan Road.
According to a spokesperson, a water main break was reported near the Jordan Grocery Store. The boil order will remain in effect until further notice.
A previous order had been in effect after storms caused multiple water lines to break. That order was lifted on Wednesday.
Another boil order remains in effect in Newton County. Parthenon Water Association had a water line break and is continuing tank maintenance. The areas impacted are Gum Springs Road, Smith Mountain Road, Lone Beech Road and Murray Road.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
