The Rotary Club of Mountain Home presented a check to the Mountain Home Education Foundation in the amount of $7,000 at their most recent meeting.

The donation to ‘The Promise’ program pays for Mountain Home High School graduates to attend Arkansas State University Mountain Home (ASUMH). After all other grants and scholarships are applied, ‘The Promise’ pays for up to four semesters within three years of high school graduation.

In addition to the Promise donation, Rotary Club of Mountain Home awarded 10 local students each a $1,000 scholarship for a total of $10,000.

Students selection is made by the scholarship committee based off submitted applications and remain anonymous to voters until the selections are made.

The opportunity to share the donation and scholarships are made possible by the community’s support of the annual Pancake Day fundraiser among other fundraisers.

The recipients for 2022 are as follows: Alexander Jordan (MHHS); Kaiden Reese (MHHS); Kaylee Drake (MHHS); Sarea Snow (MHHS); Madison Schmeski (MHHS); Madison Hall (NHS); Sarah Vacco (MHHS); Kamryn Mahan (MHHS); Afton Massey (CHS); and Abbigale Derden (CHS).

Jennifer Crawford, Executive Director accepted the donation on behalf of the Mountain Home Education Foundation.
