A man arrested after holding a gun to a man’s forehead and demanding the return of his mother’s personal belongings appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Twenty-seven-year-old Colton Jay Crabtree of Mountain Home entered a guilty plea to the charges against him and was put on probation for four years.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Crabtree approached the victim as he was burning lawn debris in the backyard of his residence in the 400-block of Justis Street.

Mountain Home police investigators reported Crabtree demanded the return of his mother’s personal property being kept inside the victim’s residence.

During the confrontation, Crabtree is alleged to have pulled a black pistol from his waistband and held it to the victim’s forehead.

Crabtree is alleged to have said, “I will end your life if mom can’t get her clothes.”

A neighbor who witnessed the confrontation came out of his residence and Crabtree fled on foot.

Police found him on 8th Street and detained him. He was allegedly carrying a loaded 9-millimeter pistol in his waistband.

The pistol was taken into evidence.

Crabtree was taken to jail and booked on charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.

The sentence handed down Thursday was done under the provisions of Act 346, known as the first offender’s law.

If Crabtree remains out of trouble during his probation, he can petition the court to have his record sealed.
