A man with a warrant for his arrest tried to hide his face as he drove past a police officer, but it didn’t work and he wound up in jail. Forty-one-year-old Nathias Hall of Mountain Home was arrested Sunday in Gassville for the felony warrant out of Baxter County, and he picked up additional felony charges because of drugs that were found in his vehicle.

According to probable cause affidavits in the cases, Hall had allegedly stolen scrap metal and aluminum from EZ Loader and sold it to a local scrap business. The business identified Hall as the person who had sold the scrap metal and photos of the metal they purchased were shown to officials at EZ Loader who identified it as theirs based on its uniqueness.

Law enforcement determined Hall had sold over 2,900 pounds of stolen scrap metal and aluminum for nearly $2,000. A warrant for his arrest was issued in late May for felony counts of theft by receiving, theft by receiving of non-ferrous scrap metal, unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate a crime and continuing a criminal enterprise.

On Sunday, a Gassville officer was on routine patrol when he witnessed a man trying to hide his face as he drove by. The officer recognized Hall and pulled him over for the outstanding warrant.

During a search of the vehicle, the officer located a white crystalline substance and a glass smoking pipe which Hall admitted were his.

Charges from the traffic stop include possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, both felonies.

Hall is being held on bonds totaling $25,000.

Hall has been in trouble with the law before. He was arrested last year when gave police his brother’s name and birth date during a traffic stop in which drugs and paraphernalia were found in his vehicle.
