Monday marks the start of Arkansas high school athletics for the 2022-2023 school year, and it begins with Mountain Home hosting one of the premier golf events in the state. The Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational starts its two-day run at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.
This year’s tournament has its biggest field with 25 teams participating. Dell Leonard is beginning the second season of his second stint as the head coach of the Bombers and Lady Bombers, and says he is thankful for the job Ultimate Auto Group does in sponsoring the tournament.

In addition to the hospitality provided by Ultimate Auto Group, Leonard says Big Creek is an attractive course to play on.

Mountain Home’s girls are coming off a season in which they finished as 5A-West conference champions and Class 5A state co-runners-up. The Bomber boys ended up fourth in the conference last year. Leonard says for this season, his main concentration is to see his golfers improve day-by-day.
