Rogers boys, Russellville girls win Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational

The opening event of the high school golf season wrapped up Tuesday with the Rogers boys and Russellville girls being able to maintain their first round leads. The Mounties and Lady Cyclones won the Ultimate Auto Group High School Invitational at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.

Russellville ended up with a total of 537 to top Mount St. Mary’s by 33 strokes. Mountain Home finished third in the girls’ standings at 588, Melbourne was eighth at 675, and Harrison ended up 10th at 680.

Chloe Freville of Mount St. Mary’s was the individual medalist with a two-day total of 157. Among area golfers, Mountain Home’s Abby Edens took fourth place with a 178, Emma Killian and Lexi Rauls of Mountain Home and AvaMarie Velasquez of Harrison finished in a three-way tie for 16th with a 216, Melbourne’s Annie Rush was 19th with a 219, Abbie Lawrence of Melbourne ended up 24th with a 227, Harrison’s Brynne Bonds took 25th place with a 228, Anna Torres of Mountain Home finished 27th with a 231, Kallie Thornton of Melbourne was 28th with a 234, Harrison’s Lauryn Tapley ended up 33rd with a 244, Lilly Arnold of Harrison was part of a tie for 34th place with a 247, and Bailey Smith of Melbourne finished 37th with a 257.

Rogers’ boys ended up with two-day total of 630, 34 strokes ahead of Van Buren. The Mountain Home Blue team finished third at 724, Harrison was fifth at 745, Melbourne ended up 10th at 816, and the Mountain Home Gold team took 11th place at 838.

Russellville’s Noah Abington was the medalist with a 150. On the local level, Carter Manry of Melbourne finished 28th with a 172; Ian Ellison of Mountain Home Blue was 15th with a 177; Chace Berwald of Mountain Home Blue ended up 16th with a 179; Aidan Sanders of Mountain Home Blue was tied for 17th place with a 180; Harrison’s Reggie Grant finished tied for 19th with a 181; Carter Aryers of Harrison was 23rd with a 185; Harrison’s Blaise Bonds ended up 25th with a 187; Jack Coleman of Mountain Home Blue took 26th place with a 188; Chris Lindenmeyer of Mountain Home Gold, Brennon Burch of Melbourne and Owen Styles of Harrison finished in a three-way tie for 29th with a 192; Jake Brashears of Mountain Home Gold was 40th with a 206; Melbourne’s Ayden Campbell ended up 41st with a 208; Jack Magness of Harrison was tied for 43rd place with a 212; Hagan Robb of MOuntain Home Gold finished tied for 46th; Lincoln Sherry of Mountain Home Gold was part of a three-way tie for 51st with a 225; Ayden Havens of Mountain Home Gold ended up 54th with a 240; and Melbourne’s Alton Roberson took 55th place with a 244.
