The Donald W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County is looking for Teens and Tweens to join the Teen Library Council (TLC).
The Teen Library Council is an advisory board of students in grades 7-12 who meet twice a month with the Library’s Youth Services staff. TLC members host a monthly program to help tech-challenged patrons learn how to use smartphones and tablets and provide input on library issues related to teens.
Applicants are expected to have a desire to promote reading, support the library and the ability to work cooperatively with people of various ages and backgrounds. TLC is open to students in grades 7 through 12 with a Baxter County Library Card who can attend monthly meetings between September and May.
The Tween Library Council is an advisory board of students in grades 4 through 6 who meet monthly with the Library’s Youth Services staff to discuss books, movies and give input on related library issues to tweens. The Tween Library Council requires a commitment to attend one meeting per month from September to May and various library programs outside of the meetings.
The Teen and Tween Library Council applications can be found at baxlib.org/events.
The deadline to submit applications is Saturday.
