A Mountain Home woman has been arrested for a fight with a neighbor and picked up additional charges when she fought with officers and broke a glass coffee pot on one of them. Thirty-one-year-old Chanell Wilson picked up six charges for the two incidents, including one felony.
According to the probable cause statement from Mountain Home police, officers were called to the Meadow Springs Apartments on North Church Street Wednesday afternoon for a fight. Upon arrival, officers found two females in the parking lot yelling at each other. The victim told police Wilson had pushed her into the railing and slapped her on the head.
Wilson, as the two continued to argue in front of the police, admitted she hit the victim. When an officer told her to turn around, Wilson began yelling she wasn’t going to jail because she has kids. She then took off running, went into her apartment and locked the door.
Officers tried to coax Wilson out of her apartment but she refused. They obtained a key from maintenance and opened the door enough they could grab her arm. Wilson then allegedly grabbed a glass coffee pot and swung it at one of the officers, missing her head, but striking her in the chest and shoulder area, causing the pot to break. The altercation happened in front of Wilson’s three small children who were inside the apartment.
Wilson is charged with a felony count of battery on a police officer in the second degree and five misdemeanors, including three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count each of battery in the third degree and resisting arrest. Her bond is set at $10,000.
The three children were taken into the custody of the Department of Human Services.
