Melbourne golf teams win outing at Cooper’s Hawk

The Melbourne High School golf teams were able to win Tuesday’s event at their home at Cooper’s Hawk Golf Course.

The Bearkatz won the boys’ side with a total of 128. Newport was seven strokes back to finish second, Southside Batesville was third, Batesville ended up fourth, and Cave City took fifth place.

Melbourne ended up with the top two golfers on the day. Carter Manry was the medalist with a 40, and Brennon Burch shot a 42. Also for the Bearkatz, Alton Roberson finished with a 46.

The Lady Bearkatz also took the girls’ side with a total of 149. Cave City finished second at three strokes back, Batesville was third, and Newport ended up fourth.

Jessie Stauffer of Cave City was the medalist with a 44. Melbourne’s Sophie Love took second place with a 46, and teammate Annie Rush finished fourth with a 50.
