A man listing a Bull Shoals address was arrested in the early morning hours of August 21, 2021 and charged with various drug offenses.

Thirty-one-year-old Cody Von Almond appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court last week and pled guilty to charges against him and was put on probation for five years.

Almond’s record is fairly extensive. He has had a number of charges filed against him – mainly in Garland and Hot Spring Counties.

Many of the cases involving Almond stem from traffic and other misdemeanor violations, but felony charges have also been brought.

He spent time in the North Central Unit of the state prison system in Calico Rock on a six-year sentence imposed in a Garland County drug case.

He is shown as currently being on parole and under the supervision of the Mountain Home office of Arkansas Community Correction

In one encounter with the law in another part of Arkansas, Almond was one of three people in a vehicle that fled when a policeman attempted a traffic stop.

The car eventually skidded to a stop and, according to a report of the incident, two of the people jumped out and disappeared into nearby woods.

Almond was reported not to have gotten far. In the words of the incident report, as officers took him into custody, “He went to floppin’ and twitchin’ as though on a dope trip.”

After he was subdued, Almond was placed in a patrol car for the ride to jail.
