A Marion County man has been arrested after breaking into a residence to try to feed wandering dogs.

46-year-old Daymon Doshier has been charged with a felony count of residential burglary, and misdemeanor counts of trespassing and public intoxication.

On September 21, Marion County officials responded to a call from an off-duty state trooper about a male individual trying to make entry into a home behind his home in Yellville.

Upon arrival, the trooper reported his mother-in-law was on the back deck of the residence reading when she heard a loud banging on the back door of a home behind hers and a male individual, later identified as Doshier, yelling and allegedly trying to make entry. A deputy then patrolled the area and the male individual was not located.

Around half an hour later, the trooper stated he made contact with Doshier who stated he was walking passed the residence and noticed dogs walking loose around the yard. Doshier allegedly stated he made entry through the lower door on the home to get the dogs some food. While in the residence, Doshier removed knives and kitchen scissors, which were removed from his person during a search.

Officials state Doshier smelled of intoxicants during the incident.

Doshier has been booked into the Marion County Sheriff’s Department on a $7,500 bond.
