Baxter County sheriff provides Halloween safety tips

Monday marks the annual tradition of kids going out for a night of trick-or-treating, and authorities are encouraging a fun but safe Halloween. KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot’s Matt Sharp recently spoke with Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery on some of the top Halloween safety tips.

One safety tip provided by medical experts is to have the Halloween candy inspected prior to consumption. According to Pafford Medical Services, the contents of trick-or-treaters’ bags and buckets should be checked for choking hazards. In addition, candy should be properly sealed, and any that is open or not packaged should be thrown away.
