A Mountain Home man was arrested over the weekend for the theft of a safe containing $25,000, a handgun and other documents from a business in the city. Three felony charges have been filed against 44-year-old Quan Tran Le in connection with the incident.

According to Mountain Home Police Chief Eddie Griffin, officers were called to a business in Eastside Centre shortly before 6 Saturday morning for an alarm. Upon arrival, police discovered a deadbolt lock on the backdoor had been broken. When the business owner arrived, it was discovered someone had entered the business through the ceiling and stolen the safe.

Le had allegedly disabled all of the cameras within view of the crime except one. That camera, along with a camera at a nearby business, showed the suspect’s vehicle.

Officers went to another local business where they located Le’s vehicle. While looking through the window of the vehicle, police observed a mask matching the one the suspect wore during the theft and a glove matching another glove which was left at the scene.

Officers arrested Le, and during questioning, he admitted to the crime and the contents of the safe were recovered.

Le is charged with felony counts of commercial burglary, theft of property and criminal mischief. He is free after posting $5,000 bond.

Chief Griffin says thanks to help from the business owner, other local businesses and quick work of the patrol division, a suspect was developed and apprehended within six hours of the incident.
