
Cotter was able to take two of three basketball games over Kingston on Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors won the senior girls’ game over the Lady Yellowjackets 56-40. Morgan Zick led Cotter with 18 points, and Becca Benedict added 11. The Lady Warriors improve to 2-2 on the season.
Cotter did not fare as well in the senior boys’ game. The Warriors suffered a 53-36 loss to Kingston.
The evening began with Cotter’s junior girls beating up on Kingston 32-14. The Junior Lady Warriors were led by Zaylor Brotherton with 14 points. Cotter is now 2-2 on the year.
Norfork was swept at home by Mount Vernon-Enola. The Panthers were edged out by the Warhawks 51-50 in the senior boys’ game. Norfork’s senior girls also fell to Mount Vernon-Enola 38-33. The Norfork junior boys started the night by losing to Mount Vernon-Enola 41-29.
Viola’s senior girls were able to squeak by with a 42-41 victory at Omaha. Marissa Hutson was the Lady Longhorns’ top scorer with 11 points, and A.J. McCandlis grabbed 12 rebounds. Viola’s record is now 4-1.
The Calico Rock High School teams ended up getting swept at Lead Hill. The Pirates fell to the Tigers 66-63. The Calico Rock girls also lost to Lead Hill 63-46.
The Rural Special High School boys were able to pick up a win on the road. The Rebels defeated Pangburn by a final of 62-43.
Bergman’s boys were able to dominate on their home floor. The Panthers invoked the mercy rule and pounded Haas Hall-Bentonville 95-34.
The Valley Springs High School teams had mixed results with West Side at Greers Ferry. The Lady Tigers topped the Lady Eagles 54-38. Valley Springs had a different result in the boys’ game with a 90-84 loss to West Side.
