A Mountain Home man pled guilty to charges in his newest criminal case and was sentenced to four years in prison during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court last Wednesday.
Twenty-four year-old Kendrick Nathaniel Sebree was arrested on drug-related charges in mid-March when officers went to a residence located along Tucker Cemetery Road in Gassville.
They were looking for 41-year-old Lisa Rothman who was listed as the resident of the home. A criminal case was opened on her when she failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance.
WRONG PLACE AND WRONG TIME
Sebree was also found in the house.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers were approaching an open side door at Rothman’s residence when a person inside the house slammed it shut and engaged the lock. After ignoring several commands to come out of the house, officers forced entry into the structure.
A search of the residence turned up numerous items of drug paraphernalia, including syringes, digital scales, spoons and smoking pipes, both containing a white residue.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the substance in the spoon field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Sebree and Rothman were arrested after they both denied the paraphernalia belonged to them.
On October 17, Rothman pled guilty to her charges and was put on probation for five years.
Sebree is no stranger to circuit court. He has had a number of criminal charges filed against him through the years. Sebree’s first criminal charges in Baxter County date back to 2016.
As Sebree was taking his plea Wednesday, Circuit Judge John Putman mentioned that he had seen Sebree in his court several times. The judge asked him why he had been in so much trouble.
“Oh, well, you know how it is – I’m just taking these charges for someone else,” Sebree replied.
