The Cotter High School boys’ basketball picked up an easy win on Friday as they pounded another group of Warriors from Life Way Christian 64-36. Hudson Adams led Cotter with 17 points, Ryan Benedict scored 16, and David Roger added 11.
Flippin had a successful night to open the Billy Ply Boys’ Classic with a 71-48 victory over Rivercrest. The Bobcats were led by Rilyn Robins with 18 points, and Gabe Davis chipped in 13. Flippin improves to 9-8 on the season.
The Yellville-Summit High School teams picked up a sweep at Eureka Springs. The Lady Panthers routed the Lady Highlanders 46-20. Yellville-Summit’s boys also topped Eureka Springs 68-50.
Salem ended up with mixed results at Melbourne. The Lady Greyhounds were able to beat the Lady Bearkatz 53-39. Salem was not as fortunate on the boys’ side as they were edged out by Melbourne 51-50.
Izard County grabbed two wins as they went to Imboden for three games with Sloan-Hendrix.
The Lady Cougars had a good night in the senior girls’ game. Izard County beat the Lady Greyhounds 62-52.
Izard County did not fare as well in the senior boys’ contest. The Cougars lost to Sloan-Hendrix 73-34.
Izard County’s junior boys began the night with a 49-42 victory over Sloan-Hendrix. Garrett Dillard was the Junior Cougars’ top scorer with 21 points, and Sabastian Nussbickel had 12. Izard County is now 7-3 on the year and 4-0 in the 2A-2.
Marshall was able to go on the road and sweep South Side-Bee Branch. The Bobcats defeated the Hornets 78-65 in the boys’ game. Marshall also captured the girls’ contest 51-39.
Mountain View also picked up a road sweep after going to Tuckerman. The Yellowjackets won the boys’ game over the Bulldogs 52-38. Mountain View’s girls squeaked by Tuckerman 47-44.
Lead Hill ended up getting swept at Jasper. The Tigers fell to the Pirates 76-48 in the boys’ game. Lead Hill also lost the girls’ contest to Jasper 64-30.
Bergman’s boys had good night as they picked up a conference win on the road. The Panthers topped Elkins 65-47.
The Valley Springs High School teams were able to sweep Lincoln at home. The Lady Tigers invoked the mercy rule and destroyed the Lady Wolves 81-23. Valley Springs’ boys also beat Lincoln 80-62.
Harrison’s boys were able to get an easy win on their home floor. The Goblins thrashed Batesville 78-33.
