
The Ultimate Auto Group Basketball Tournament began Tuesday in Mountain Home with both of the host teams winning their openers. Matt Sharp has the details.

The Bomber boys were able to defeat Flippin 60-44. Mountain Home jumped out early as they outscored the Bobcats 23-6 in the opening quarter. Flippin held tough as they held the Bombers to seven points in the second period and cut the margin to nine to end the half. Mountain Home pulled back away in the second half and went on to win by 16.
Braiden Dewey led the Bombers with 20 points. Rilyn Robins scored 11 for the Bobcats.
Mountain Home improves to 8-6 on the season. Flippin falls to 10-9.
In the other boys’ games, Greene County Tech pounded Cave City 76-31, Paragould beat Greenwood 80-64, and Farmington thrashed Junction City 75-23.
The Lady Bombers wrapped up the night by topping Clinton 60-49. Mountain Home came out on the offensive end with 25 opening quarter points. The Lady Yellowjackets made a comeback in the second period and went into the locker room down three. The second half had a similar theme with the Lady Bombers pulling away and Clinton going on another run. Mountain Home got more distance late in the game and posted the 11-point victory.
The Lady Bombers were led by Parker Huskey with 19 points, Amelia Rucker scored 12, and Laykin Moore added 11. Reese McDonald had 19 points for the Lady Yellowjackets, and Sydney Standridge chipped in 14.
Mountain Home is now 8-6 on the year. Clinton drops to 9-6.
Also on the girls’ bracket, Flippin fell to Fair Grove, Missouri, 75-38, Salem lost to Farmington 68-28, and Paragould beat Rogers 54-32.
