A Missouri man is facing multiple charges for stealing a hospital vehicle and breaking into a home.According to the probable cause affidavit, Boone County Sheriff deputies were first dispatched to a residence on a report of a suspicious person.

The caller reported when he returned to his home he noticed a male on the porch. He said he was expecting someone to work on his hot tub, but when he asked the man, later identified as 28-year-old Anthony Turner, how it was going, Turner stated he was there to collect medical research. The caller observed Turner was acting strange and asked him to leave. Turner then got into the passenger seat of a vehicle and headed down the road towards a dead end. The caller stated he then heard two loud yells coming from down the street, describing them as “sounding like someone was getting attacked.” He stated approximately 30 minutes later the same vehicle came up the road with Turner now in the drivers seat. The caller told authorities he confronted Turner and ask what he was doing where he again stated he was collecting medical research. The caller took a picture of the vehicle and license plate and reported to dispatch. The license plate matched a blue Jeep belonging to Cox Medical of Springfield.

Later in the day, officers were dispatched to a second residence for a possible burglary. The caller stated a male showed up to her residence in a dark colored jeep and went to the back of her house. She stated she heard a noise and observed a male standing in her laundry room. The man, later identified as Turner, advised her he was there for medical research, then went out the door and back to his car.

En route to the call, officers observed a jeep heading south towards Harrison on Arkansas Highway 7 matching the plates of the reported vehicle. Officers were able to pull the vehicle over and ordered Turner to step out, but he refused to listen to any orders. He was assisted out of the vehicle and placed under arrest.

Security staff at Cox Medical were notified of the situation and they stated they were in the process of notifying local law enforcement of the stolen vehicle.

Upon booking, it was discovered Turner had an extensive arrest history in Missouri. He has been charged with a felony count of theft by receiving and residential burglary along with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing, obstructing governmental operations and driving on a suspended or revoked license. A habitual offender charge was also added.

Turner is currently being held in the Boone County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
