MH boys win 7th grade tourney, girls finish 2nd

The Mountain Home Seventh Grade Basketball Tournament was held Saturday on the high school and junior high campuses, and the host school ended up keeping the boys’ championship trophy at home.
The Seventh Grade Bombers began the day by topping Flippin. Also in the first round, Cotter fell to Yellville-Summit, Salem defeated Harrison, and Melbourne beat Cave City. On the consolation side of the bracket, Cotter lost to Harrison, and Flippin topped Cave City. In the semifinals, Mountain Home defeated Melbourne, and Yellville-Summit fell to Salem. The Seventh Grade Bombers advanced to the title game and beat Salem.


Mountain Home’s girls finished as the runners-up. The Seventh Grade Lady Bombers started their day with a win over Yellville-Summit. Mountain Home later squeaked by Cotter 13-11 in the semifinals, but in the championship game, they lost to Harrison 32-26.

Bergman’s boys captured the Anstaff Bank Junior High Tournament title Saturday at Alpena. The Junior Panthers defeated Jasper 64-47.
