
Basketball makes up much of the local Tuesday schedule, weather permitting, and the Mountain Home High School teams are set to go back on the road. The Bombers and Lady Bombers continue conference action with an outing at Greenbrier that has an earlier start time than originally scheduled.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 11-10 on the season and 2-3 in the 5A-West. The Lady Bombers fell at Greenwood on Friday. Greenbrier is 4-15 and 0-5. The Lady Panthers are coming off at loss at Alma.
The Mountain Home boys are 11-10 overall and 2-3 in the league. The Bombers wrapped up the previous week with a 12-point win at Greenwood. Greenbrier is 10-9 and 4-1. The Panthers got past Alma on Friday.
The girls’ game tips off at 4 at the Panther Pavilion followed by the boys’ contest. Both games will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Siloam Springs travels to Van Buren. Harrison’s games with Russellville have been postponed until next Tuesday, Jan. 31, and the games between Alma and Greenwood have also been postponed.
Two area boys’ teams will wrap up pool play in the Sparta Trojans Tournament. Gainesville faces Fair Grove at 6, and Ava takes on Greenwood from Springfield at 7:30.
Elsewhere, Cotter hosts Yellville-Summit, Viola entertains Calico Rock, Bakersfield’s boys travel to Thayer, Izard County is home against Sloan-Hendrix, the Dora boys make the trip to Cabool, Mammoth Spring heads to Paragould to play Crowley’s Ridge Academy, Melbourne hosts Cave City, Marshall entertains South Side-Bee Branch, Timbo travels to Fox to face Rural Special, Lead Hill makes the trip to Mount Judea, Bergman is home against Elkins, Omaha hosts Mount Judea.
On the junior high level, Flippin entertains Valley Springs in games originally scheduled for Monday. Mountain Home’s three junior high boys’ games with Paragould have been rescheduled for next Tuesday, Jan. 31.
