One boil water order issued; one remains in effect

A boil water order has been issued for Newton County.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, the order was issued Thursday due to a construction related water line break and affects the five customers of Marion County 4010, east of Patton Cemetery, including Fox Hunt Lane and 4042.

A boil order remains in effect for Newton County. The order was issued Monday due to maintenance related work and affects the Mockingbird Hill Water Association for the area of Will Jones Road.

All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.

All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
