Cotter School Board approves renews therapy contracts for 2023-24 school year

The Cotter Public School Board of Education voted to approve the proposed district calendar for the 2023-24 school year during their monthly meeting Thursday night.Following the COVID-19 pandemic and mandatory school closures, Arkansas schools were instructed to create a re-entry plan for students. Each year the school updates the plan to ensure success for all students and the Board approved district’s Ready for Learning and District Support plan for 2023-24.

The Board also approved to renew contracts for the next school year with Ozark Therapy for physical therapy services; Shining Stars Occupational Therapy for occupational therapy services; psychoeducational services through Family Psychological Center; and speech therapy services.

During the meeting, Tech Coordinator Shane Lively presented the Board with a Radiofrequency Identification (RFID) door quote from Howard Technology Solutions and Critical Edge for $68,931. The purchase was approved unanimously.

During the personnel report, Physical Education Teacher Cash Reeves resigned effective at the end of the school year.

Superintendent Jayme Jones reported 392 students enrolled in the Elementary School and 315 students enrolled in the High School for a total district enrollment of 707 students.
