
Several junior high track athletes gathered in Mountain Home on Monday for the Junior Bomber Relays.
Mountain Home took the win on the boys’ side. Yellville-Summit finished third, Timbo was fourth, Norfork ended up fifth, Izard County took sixth place, Bergman finished seventh, Mountain View was eighth, Valley Springs ended up ninth, Harrison took 10th place, and Ozark Mountain finished 11th.
Individually for the Junior Bombers, Dayton Davis won the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, Kaleb Daniel won the pole vault, Barrett Miller won the 100-meter dash, Trenton Smith won the 1600-meter run, Garrett Barr won the 800-meter run, Leo Grubbs won the triple jump and was second in the high jump, William Taylor won the long jump and ended up second in the 1600-meter run and third in the 800-meter run, Nathan Yarborough took second place in the shot put and discus, Connor Schulz finished second in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Brayden Henn was second in the triple jump, Garrett Barr ended up second in the 400-meter dash, Brody Brown took second place in the 300-meter hurdles, Trenton Smith finished second in the 800-meter run, Kaden West was third in the triple jump, Sam Rodriguez ended up third in the 200-meter dash, Mason Griffin took third place in the long jump and fourth in the 200-meter dash, Taylon Peterson finished third in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles, Caiden Kaspar was third in the 1600-meter run and fourth in the 800-meter run, Caden Del Soto ended up third in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the triple jump, Liam Alvirez took fourth place in the discus, Aidan Hutchens finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, Blake Vacco was fifth in the long jump, and Russell Hargett ended up fifth in the 400-meter dash. The team of Barr, Gray Daniels, Levi Payne and Smith won the 4×800-meter relay; Barr, Davis, Miller and Smith won the 4×400-meter relay; Schulz, Davis Benjamin Clark and Hargett won the 4×200-meter relay; and Miller, Isaac Ballard, Del Soto and Schulz won the 4×100-meter relay.
For Yellville-Summit, Ethan McCalla won the shot put; Cooper Craighead and Zen Novak were part of a three-way tie for third place in the pole vault; and the team of Isai Matias, Norman Martin, Rusty Goodall and Eden Hardy finished third in the 4×400-meter relay.
For Mountain Home’s girls, Camilla Johnson won the 300-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash and was second in the 100-meter hurdles; Olivia McCoy won the pole vault and the 100-meter dash and ended up second in the high jump and third in the long jump; Pixie Bolick won the 100-meter hurdles and took second place in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 200-meter dash; Kori Scroggins finished second in the shot put and the discus; Lorelai Green was second in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash and the long jump; Audrey Birkhimer ended up third in the 300-meter hurdles; Mackenna Medley took third place in the shot put, fourth in the discus and fifth in the long jump; Aleigh Lucas finished fourth in the high jump; Lucy Koehn was fourth in the 1600-meter run; and Cisily Goettler ended up fifth in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs. The team of Johnson, McCoy, Jurzie Guiltner and Lily Akhavi won the 4×100-meter relay; Johnson, Guiltner, Haylee Edwards and Izzy Koehler took second place in the 4×200-meter relay; and Sienna Reed, Jamie Chandler, Koehn and Goettler finished fifth in the 4×400-meter relay.
For the Yellville-Summit girls, Riley Hopson was second in the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, and Miah Klump ended up third in the discus.
