3 MHHS track records broken at Cyclone Relays

The Mountain Home High School track teams competed in the Cyclone Relays Thursday at Russellville, and three school records were broken.

The Bombers finished fourth on the boys’ side with Russellville getting the win. Robert Dover broke his own school record as he won the discus, improving his previous 155’6″ to 161’3″. Michael Davis won and broke the boys’ pole vault school record clearing 14’7″, breaking Lance Lee’s old record of 14’6″ set in 2019. Adam Jones was second in the pole vault, and Zach Daugherty gave Mountain Home the top three spots. Ky Bickford ended up second in the 800-meter run with a state qualifying time of 1:56.67, and he also took third place in the 3200-meter run. Ty Lawrence finished third in the 800-meter run, Eli Jones was third in the discus, William Hill ended up third in the 1600-meter run and fourth in the 3200-meter run, Brady Barnett took fourth place in the long jump, and Hendrix Hughes finished fifth in the 3200-meter run. The team of Talan Palmer, Lawrence, Dylan McBride and Daugherty was third in the 4×400-meter relay; and Hughes, Conner King, Reece Lara and Brayden Yates ended up fourth in the 4×800-meter relay.

Mountain Home took sixth place in the girls’ team standings with the win going to Fayetteville. Individually for the Lady Bombers, Erika Krueger finished second in the 3200-meter run, Ali Czanstkowski was third in the high jump and fourth in the triple jump, Erin Smith ended up fourth in the 800-meter run, Cayla McMaster took fourth place in the 3200-meter run, and Mackenzi Clark finished fifth in the 800-meter run. The team of Bailey Ritenburg, Smith, Anna McCarn and Merritt McConnell was third in the 4×400-meter relay; and McConnell, Czanstkowski, Rachel Chamberlin and Ritenburg broke a school record as they ended up fourth in the 4×200-meter relay 1:53.8.

Mountain Home will compete in the Zizzer Relays Thursday at West Plains.
