The Mountain Home freshman baseball team had mixed results on Thursday as they hosted Harrison’s junior varsity squad for a doubleheader. The Junior Bombers shut out the J.V. Goblins 7-0 in the opener, but they lost 9-3 in the nightcap.
The Gainesville High School team won its pool games in the Hartville Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs routed Norwood 16-1 and breezed past Crane 10-2.
Elsewhere, Calico Rock defeated Concord 10-4, Mammoth Spring fell to Hillcrest 13-0, and Mountain View beat Hoxie 13-9.
Flippin’s softball team ended up splitting a doubleheader at Elkins. The Lady Bobcats won the first game 13-8, but the Lady Elks won the second game 9-4.
In high school softball, Norfork lost to Lead Hill 5-1, Viola pounded Greers Ferry West Side 11-1, Calico Rock topped Concord 3-1, Gainesville beat up on Alton 10-2, Mountain View destroyed Hoxie 13-1, and Harrison blanked Clinton 9-0.
