The Mountain Home High School baseball team had mixed results as they hosted Russellville for a 5A-West doubleheader. The Bombers fell to the Cyclones 3-2 in the opener and picked up the 2-0 win in the nightcap.
Izard County had a rough outing in Imboden as they fell to Sloan-Hendrix 4-1. Wyatt Buchanan pitched six innings for the Cougars, struck out three batters and gave up two earned runs. Izard County’s lone run was scored on a solo home run by Gavin Stephens.
In other baseball, Cotter toppled Jasper 23-4, Flippin lost to Highland 16-0, Viola routed Shirley 23-2, Salem was an 8-3 winner at Mountain View, and Omaha swept Deer 13-3 and 20-10.
