
The Mountain Home High School junior varsity softball team was able to sweep a doubleheader over Harrison on Thursday.
The J.V. Lady Bombers dominated the J.V. Lady Goblins 10-1 in the opener. Karleigh Drewry led Mountain Home by going 3-for-4 with an RBI, Amelia Mason was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Jordan Massie went 2-for-3 and drove in a run, and Daelyn Harper was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Mountain Home also took the late game over Harrison 9-3. Emma King went 2-for-2 and drove in a run; Libby Dewey, Maggie Manes and Carly Pittman were each 1-for-2 with an RBI; Rylee Morris, Kierra Alkire, Lakin Payne and Brooklyn Blake each went 1-for-2; and Haley Kotlicky was 1-for-3.
King was the winning pitcher in both games with a total of 12 strikeouts.
In Thursday’s varsity action, Calico Rock fell to Shirley 2-1, Salem routed Walnut Ridge 18-1, Izard County lost to Mount Vernon-Enola 7-2, and Melbourne swept a doubleheader over Cave City 20-0 and 18-0.
