A Mountain Home man and woman have been arrested for breaking into a home and stealing several items. The two, 28-year-old Aaron Blaine Bates and 26-year-old Raven Fayth Barbour, were arrested at the Baxter County Court Complex Monday afternoon.

According to the probable cause statement in the case, the owner of the house, Bates’ uncle, contacted law enforcement April 12 to report the house had been burglarized. Investigators say the scene suggested someone had been living in the home. Fingerprints collected at the house were identified as those of Bates. Used and new syringes were also found in the home. A purse was found in the house which had Barbour’s driver’s license along with a crystalline substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Several items were missing from the home including a laptop computer, tools and coins.

Bates and Barbour are each charged with felony counts of residential burglary and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and a misdemeanor count of theft of property. Bates is also being held on a parole violation. He has eight previous felony charges, including residential burglary.
